Biography
Ezra Rivers (they/them) received their B.A. in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College in 2018. Currently enrolled and pursuing their Ph.D. in English at the University of Delaware, their research interests are homed in blue ecocriticism, Black and trans* ecology, Indigenous studies, urban studies, and, more broadly, environmental justice. Their work primarily seeks to ask how we, as individuals and as a collective insinuate care in a collapsing climate. Training as an environmental humanities scholar, they pull most often from grassroots strategists, collapse psychologists, ecophilosophers, blue thinkers, and Indigenous botanists who refuse to imagine a world without empathy, and rally behind modes of resistance rooted in actionable restoration efforts.
